So you'll reset the game back a few hours to prevent a "market crash", but you wont ban botting accounts?

I just went to elona reach for the first time in a few months, and what do I see but literally 30 Mo/W and a random ele or ranger here and there. As cool as it is to watch the characters stand in exactly the same place and have weird textures between them, it makes me sad that such an easily solvable problem has been going on for so long, with you aware of it.

It's not like it takes time or money. Just have one guy sit in elona/other bot areas for 20 minutes or so, taking down names of bots, and banning their accounts. Problem solved, gg.

No please don't flame or cry about "Youre not paying a monthly fee so why should they?" They should do it because they have more games coming out at later dates, and constant rediculous bugs and botting exploits are not things I like to see in a good game. I can press a button and go to sleep for 10 hours, give me 50K a day please. Guild Wars is the first MMO I've played which requires skill to be good at. Ruined by Arenanet's laziness to control their own world.

So tough luck if you're a Mo/W and you happen to be in Elona when someone is in there writing down names? It takes more time and effort to prove who is using bots to farm gold than just having someone sit there and write down peoples names. In fact if anet were lazy they probably would just have someone sit there and arbitrarily ban people simply because they're a Mo/W in elona.

If anyone goes to Elona's Reach and just watches the movements made by the "people" there it is obvious to see who are bots and who are people. Real people don't move in the same odd patterns over and over in exactly the same method. I've noticed at least three different types of bots in elona when i was there for only 10-15 minutes. The differences were most notable in the path's that they took to travel towards the merchant and where they stopped to talk to him. I'm guessing they are different bots because of the different path's they take in town but this may be incorrect. Writing down names and banning accounts is not solving the heart of this problem. What needs to be done is to implement some code or program sever side which can detect bots and automatically flag that account to be banned/warned or whatever. Sure it sounds easy enough but may be hard to pull off i'm not a programmer so I wouldn't really know what kind of code would have to be implemented to pull this off.

Here's my conspiracy theory as to why ANET hasn't done anything about the bot problem. ANET has claimed over and over that they "regularly" ban peoples accounts for using bots to farm for gold. Assuming that this is a truthfull statement what do u suppose that those people who's accounst were banned do? They go out and purchase another copy of guild wars for $50 USD, which in turn brings in extra income for ANET and more revenue due to increased sales. The reason these people would be willing to pay $50 for another copy of guild wars is that before the account that was banned probably earned them over ten times that amount of money by selling gold on ebay or some other website before they were reported and caught using a bot on their account. I have absolutely no proof and this is all just supposition but its why i think ANET has let this bot problem go on for so long.

Get it together shardfenix, this thread has been repeated many times, a new thread won't open A.nets eyes even more.

I'm sorry, but conspiracy theories don't really belong in this forum. If you don't believe they are working on the bot problem, then that is your opinion, but don't come in here and start the whole "We never landed on the moon..." stuff.
